WordPress is one of the best solutions for bloggers and small businesses. It has taken the mystery of “doing websites” away from all those “Web Guys” out there, and empowered everyday people and businesses to launch and maintain their own sites.

Organization tools has been a huge challenge for me - I’ve tried a variety of them, and found myself fighting their design and structure rather than just using it.

Backpack, like the other Web-based applications from 37 Signals, has a minimalistic UI, designed to deliver just what it needs to only. At first, I found it all a bit too simplistic, but that was probably because I’ve been exposed to bloated Web applications so much. Give Backpack and their other tools a try, giving yourself enough time to appreciate applications that do things differently from the bulk out there.
